So... We can kill innocent civilians with flying death robots, monitor and surveil an entire population, detain people without trial, prosecute and jail whistleblowers who seek to shed light on illegal and immoral policies; we live in a world where poverty, sickness, homelessness, petty crime, imprisonment, and war are all used as political footballs and are in many cases created or taken advantage of by private corporations to produce profit; we are unable to turn on the news or read a newspaper without seeing stories about crimes of such intense violence, hatred or ignorance..... Yet, the guy who gets home from work and wants to smoke a joint, eat some snack foods, and watch a funny movie is somehow the immoral criminal? The guy who smokes before a concert, and is infinitely more likely to give you a hug and a kiss than to engage in any confrontation with you whatsoever -- HE is the one we have to legislate against, fine up the ass, and in many cases send to jail with rapists and murderers? This country is a strange, illogical place.
