So....Wednesday night was a tough night at Lemongrass. A fire suppression sprinkler in back of the kitchen failed and released massive amounts of water in spite of no fire or smoke issues. Chesapeake Fire Dept arrived and eventually ebbed the flow after probably several hundreds of gallons of water had flooded the back kitchen and walk-in. This started at around 9PM and by 3AM after discarding hundreds of pounds of food and, it seemed, cleaning countless gallons of water my fantastic crew and I went home. Thursday at 8AM we all showed up again and closed the store for the day to recoup and re-prep all the food. As tired as I was I was encouraged by our great customers support as we greeted them at the front door and explained the situation for being closed that day. Each and every customer was empathetic and supportive of our situation. Today, we had our busiest lunch to date! Hats off to our wonderful Lemongrass patrons!!
