So a big thanks to BC Pizza in Greenville, MI for saving the evening. And FYI, if you have any kind of food allergy, dont eat at 57 Brew Pub. Oh my goodness DONT go here. I have never in my LIFE gone to a restaurant, ordered and left. I was a bit nervous going in but was trying to go with the flow because I wanted to go to a nice restaurant for our ANNIVERSARY. So I asked to see the chef when we went in because I eat gluten free. The hostess said, so do I and walked me to the pizza oven. There was no cross contamination prevention, but the waitress said that they scrub it. Since there was a $3 upcharge for the crust, I decided to pass and continued to look over the menu. My husband ordered a beer, and they brought him the WRONG beer, which he was gracious enough to keep. I decided on the salad because they were out of GF buns and there would have been an upcharge for the bread as well as the side salad that I would have chosen since the regular sides were not GF. So when our order came out, my husband noticed there was a crouton on my salad. At first the waitress said it wasnt one until he totally pointed it out. She took the salad back and Brad and I decided that he would take his sandwich to go and I would get a pizza from BC Pizza. At this point my husband was concerned that nothing there was safe for me to eat. Not necessarily a romantic dinner idea, I know. Our waitress brought us a box, and as Brad was putting his sandwich in the box, he noticed there was bacon on it. He is allergic to pork! I immediately went to the hostess stand to double check the menu, and it did NOT list bacon. When the manager came to the table with our bill, we asked him if it was bacon, and at first he said no, then as he looked closer he said yes its bacon from the grill. He told us no charge, asked if he could give us a gift card, (to which we said no) and he said pardon me as I go yell at the kitchen staff. So we ended up going to BC Pizza for our anniversary dinner, who was totally attentive to our needs. Even came back to the table to mention some needed changes to ensure my safety, and accidentally gave me a large salad instead of a small. They were even singing in the background (not to us) so we even got live music for our anniversary! :)
