So a bit about our first song Pina Colada. This song was written just after I got to go to Fiji with my whanau and have an amazing holiday! While there, we met a gorgeous Fijian family and got to see a little bit of what its really like for them. I also met some massage ladies who told me that they only earn $3 an hour for a massage that people pay huge money for, like $100 and up kinda prices! And they do that from sunrise to night time 6 days a week the whole year! Its like this for most workers over there. They are being exploited by rich companies who sit around creaming the profit and drinking theyre overpriced Pina Coladas, whilst their employees work their butts off for so little money. Most of the Fijians I met are such happy, positive people though and its truly inspiring to see, but theyre situation is unjust and I dont know how but something needs to change for them and I think raising awareness could be a start. - Courtney :) xx
