So, a bit of a rant. So I went to Kroger this evening to get stuff to make broth for Abby. Standing at the entrance to the store was a man holding a sign with his three kids begging for money. As I was leaving the manager ran them off and I watched them walking through the parking lot as I walked to my car. They got into a newer model minivan, you know the kind with the automatic sliding doors. Abby says that their description sounds like a family that has shown up at the church she goes to in Sugarland. One time a guy approached us outside of Starbucks once asking for cash. He was old and looked rough. I went in a bought a cup of coffee and one of their sandwiches for him. He was grateful. When I saw this family this evening there was no feeling of sympathy or sadness, only anger. Was it that they were using their kids as props? Is it that I have become so jaded that I completely doubt that they are homeless, jobless or what have you? I just dont know anymore.
