So a coworker dropped his hat in the toilet today and made me think of this time my husband and friend Maribeth Engen went on a weekend trip for a ITREC ride. So here goes, Day 1: trip up to Indianola went smooth until we got there. Unloaded one horse no problem, went in the trailer to get the other one and he went crazy bucking and rearing up as I was being slammed repeatedly inside of the trailer by a 1200 pound horse, finally I get him undone from the lead rope and off he goes. Then later that night I drop my bra in a porta-potty when I went to change cloths, wasnt going to retrieve that for sure. Day 2: put a new bit on boo boos bridle to find out I put it on upside down, so I get kevins horse ready for him and put a rear cinch on the saddle then return to fixing my bit mix-up as kevin is warming his horse up in a outdoor round pen. Then all the sudden I hear wow wow wow, I turn around and see that the rear cinch became a bucking strap so I drop what Im doing and get the horse under control before it kills my husband and remove that cinch, go back to my bit fixing then try and put it back on boo boo to find out its to tight on his mouth so needless to say we missed our ride out that day to compete. Later that day I got to see my sister Tonya Scarcello, my nephew and her husband that made that day better for sure. Day 3: We where heading home when Maribeths awning on her new trailer started to come off the trailer, so we had to stop on the side of a highway get it off and that was no easy task, unload her horse to get the awning inside her trailer to get it home. That is one weekend I will never forget.
