So a few weeks ago we had a kid in his late teens, possibly early twenties come to the door, and despite our lovely sign for no solicitation, religion, surveys etc...He still rang our doorbell. I didnt answer the door, but exclaimed on my side of the door to Peter, Gee they dont teach kids to read in schools anymore. I then proceeded to walk away from the door. I took note he was wearing a green shirt and white shorts. About 45 minutes ago I see a young lady walking up the sidewalk, again same age range as the kid from a few weeks ago, carrying a binder and clipboard like the last one as well. Probably with the same organization. I watch as this one with a rather smug look and grin on her face walks up to my door, knocks on it and rings the doorbell, then backs up about 30 feet as if she thinks thats going to keep me from seeing her there. I get a purely evil, but effective idea and walk back to the bedroom where I have in my possession a riders crop. I bought it years ago when I worked at CountryMax. I cannot even remember WHY I bought it, but it does make for a great intimidating piece of weaponry. I wander back to the front door and shes gone finally. However I dont open the front door as Im well aware someone like that is laying in wait possibly. So I venture into the office that gives me a full view of the cul-de-sac we live on and I notice she has crossed the street and is standing there watching my front door. After another moment she turns and walks away heading for the main drag through the complex. They arent going to any other homes on the cul-de-sac. I want to know why MY HOME is being targeted. I do NOT appreciate this at all. Next time I believe a lesson is in order. I just may answer, find out WHO they are affiliated with, and then call said organization and politely inform them that the next person they send to my home will be arrested for trespassing on private property. Im keeping the Riders crop in the office for now so I can easily grab it. And of course as I write this she comes back. Again knocks on my door and rings the doorbell. Im looking through a crack in the blinds as she stands there waiting. I didnt answer the door but watched her. She made some marking on a piece of paper when I didnt answer. Then walked away and went to the house directly across from me and repeated the behavior. OK so now I know they are hitting at least one other house on the street. She was wearing white shorts, green shirt (And if I ever left the house at that age wearing shorts that short my Father would have killed me..) and around her neck was some ID tag with a green emblem. Long dark straight hair just to past her shoulders... Im going to be watching for these guys as I see a pattern now. Its to much of a coincidence for them to both be wearing the same clothing combo and be in the same age range, AND both be carrying the same binder/clipboard combo as well.
