So after a few days of waiting and being bounced around my son - TopicsExpress

So after a few days of waiting and being bounced around my son appears to have a set course load. However, it took four course changes including classes being given to him that he at no time wanted or had the prerequisites for. Now he tells me that his programming class is so full that he and a friend have to go to the library to use the computers there. Meaning he gets next to no time with the teacher and has to walk from one end of the school to the other and up to the second floor if he needs help. My son was given a spare block not because he needed the extra study time, but because theres no class available to put him into during that block. They are all overfull. The kids in the foreign students program and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses have no shortages of textbooks, space, or computers. They even have smaller class sizes. A friend of mines son has been given three ring binders with laminated copies of textbook pages in them because there arent enough textbooks to go around. My son is sharing a desk in two of his classes because the classes are so full there arent enough desks. In the meantime Twisty Clark says our schools are fine and theres no overcrowding or lack of resources?! I love you teachers. I appreciate everything you do. I know this isnt your fault... Please understand my frustration and the frustration of other parents. My family has been blessed by the teachers at the high school my sons have all attended. They have gone above and beyond helping us when times were tough, out of their own pockets or funds raised by the PAC when I couldnt afford supplies or field trips.. But this unfair treatment of our teachers and students has to stop. Please, dont give up fighting for our kids. Please, please dont.
