So after nearly having a heart attack due to the large double thump near the French doors on the back side of the house and the dog all of the sudden going nuts, I regain my composure to find two wild turkeys in the backyard. The hen just flew back over the fence. But the Tom proceeded to run into the chain link for another twenty minutes. I got Dixie inside and went out with long handled yard tools to herd the turkey to the now open gate. I got him half way there when he decided to cut and run towards the other fence, taking flight about mid-yard. He hit the top of the fence and tumbled into the rose bushes on the other side. The stupid bird struggled out of the roses, down a couple hundred features and ran off into the woods. Too bad it wasnt hunting season, I would have had two plump birds killed with a rake... Oh and the double thump sound came from where the turkeys flew into the deck railing while fleeing a car on the road...
