So, after watching the documentary Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train - TopicsExpress

So, after watching the documentary Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train Coming on Netflix, not only can I not support the forthcoming biopic, Ill be actively asking other folks to reconsider supporting it with their dollars too. I love Andre Benjamin (aka Andre 3000) and really wanted to see him recreate Hendrix for the screen. However, the total fabrication by director and screenwriter John Ridley of Hendrix beating his girlfriend is not only a lie that the girlfriend herself has confirmed to be false (incidentally, shes suing), its a character assassination of a great black man who, by all accounts in the documentary, was humble, sweet, gentle, loving and modest to a fault. Ridleys claim of artistic license in such an instance would be like saying I use meth or belonged to the Nazi party in my biopic because it made for a more interesting story and for no other reason. Its disgusting. Unless I get word they cut the scene, consider me and my wallet ghost for this unnecessary tomfoolery. -- Mgmt.
