So, anyway, today I was taking care of some business at a particular establishment when I overheard two young ladies chatting.... #1: So girl, yuh really went by dah witch yesterday? #2: Yeah. He beg mih tuh go. #1: How she behave? #2: She eh carry on. Was mothers day nah. But me? I stay far! She tell she son I eh no good woman cause I doh clean by he. #2: I remember #1: Dem ole oman dem feel we have time to slave behind man! He better know I eh doin dat! Sighhhhhhhh!!! Now....i have a way of not knowing how to NOT push een my mouth in ting......sighhhh.....I interjected right there: Which is why he will end up with someone who will! Then I proceeded to have a lil chat with them.... I explained to them that being an independent woman has NOTHING to do with ones ability to TAKE CARE OF ones man. The same way you would expect him to take care of you, you have to reciprocate. Cleaning, washing and cooking is not showing weakness. If he does not appreciate your help, then fire bunn! But its not a he job and she job thing. If something is to be done, just get it done! Teach him how to clean/cook and help him along. If you cant cook, go buy and devour the Naps cookbook 1 and 2....not because you are a slave, but because you are expanding your realm. Play dotish and let some other come along, who could provide that comfy environment for him nah! I told her that mummy-in-law just looking down the road. Looking pretty wears off eventually. You want to be considered an independent, liberated, educated woman but you are still a slave to....weave, fake eyelashes, contact lenses etc. These things are all transitory. A solid, dependable woman is a priceless thing. Show him that you are all that and a bag of chips! My turn had arrived at the counter so I ended the lecture there but I feel I left them with enough food for thought. Yes, I think I did my elder duty for the week.
