So apparently, there has been uproar about my event about LaVeyan Satanism tomorrow. Let me just explain a couple of things before you judge me and others for exploring the Art of another in a detached way.... ;) The Christian Version of Satanism and the version that is used loosely to describe evil in the world by Conspiracy Theorists is VERY different to LaVeyan Satanism. The Christian version of Satanism describes a false prophet that is hidden from view, one that holds the ideals of Christianity, however has the agenda of evil. LaVeyan Satanism is blatant and open about its purpose - the followers and believers of this type of Satanism are very aware of who they are worshiping. The generic term used by Conspiracy Theorists Satanic - is a colloquial term to describe evil deceptive rituals in society and is often mixed up with freemasonary. LaVeyan Satanism does use ritual, however it is entirely symbolic and is only practiced in small groups during a ceremony called the Black Mass - It is for individual growth and to concentrate free will to attain desires. It is not a literal philosophy - if an operator (Magician) wants to harm another, they will discipline their vengence into an effigy of that person they wish to harm, they will not actually harm the individual. It should be seen like a channel for the energy to be beneficial without it being repressed or judged. I have drawn my attention to it because of the existential nature of the religion, which in a time when nihilism is abundant, we should be active about it and not degenerative. So before you rush in with judgements and ban me, or send messages to people who are going to the event or who have it on their wall just because I used the word Satan - please pick up a book or ask me about the subject. I am not a Satanist myself, but I am an existential panentheist and an astrpsychologist who uses archetypes and symbols to describe the human condition - just like any other paradigm that points to the object we are trying to describe at the moment.
