So as Im approaching 22 days until my due date.. Ive been having an ultrasound almost every week as I had a bit higher amniotic fluid and the doctor has wanted to monitor it so baby doesnt get tangled in his cord... Okay.. Went in on Monday the 10th for another ultrasound and talked to my doctor, he said everything is looking good, baby is healthy and progressing very well, strong heart beat and Im dilated to 1cm. Cool. Before I leave I make my appointment for next week, the 19th. Another ultrasound. Okay. A day passes and I get a missed call and a voicemail from another office saying my Doc called for an ultrasound... ? Called them back and she tells me that my doctor ordered an ultrasound from their office, I told her I had one for next week already. She said its a level 2 for high risk pregnancy.... Wait what? What do you mean high risk, my doctor said everything is good?? She told me to call my doctor. So I tried yesterday and received no answer. This morning I got a call back from his office and I asked the receptionist what it was about.. she proceeds to tell me.. Oh its just that the last ultrasound showed signs of an enlarged heart Excuse me?! What? At that point my mother grabbed the phone and told her to have my doctor call us immediately.. He called back about 15 minutes later and said Oh, everything is good, we just couldnt get a good picture of the heart last time. So its just to get a better, detailed picture, theres no enlarged heart. Everything is good. Just want a better picture Okay why the F*CK would your receptionist say an enlarged heart and why wouldnt you call me and tell me youre going to schedule a High risk ultrasound So I got my nice Thursday morning panic attack. Seriously, youd think communication could be a thing...? Deep breath..
