So at last the truth is out! iGas have obviously (because of their own remarks about the presence of Shale gas) drilled deeper and looked for things other than the coal methane gas that they had approval to do (i.e. they explored for shale gas). Salford Council. who gave permission for the methane exploration (not the shale gas exploration) are completely aware of this but are refusing to take any action. And here is the reason why! Salford and Trafford Council have got huge investments in iGas and its partners through their Pension Fund, and any shale gas discovery, resulting in an increase in the share price will hugely benefit them. How then, can they make an unbiased decision about whether or not to subject their own constituents to the dangers posed by Fracking? Any application will simply be rubber stamped by them and any variance to the agreement will be overlooked. What a sham! Call this Democracy? YOU COULDNT MAKE IT UP!!!!!
