So completely overwhelmed with frustration. Yet again I go to the pharmacy to pick up Claytons blood glucose test strips, only to be told insurance has denied them again. Pharmacy says insurance is requiring a prior authorization, which we JUST did in November. It took several weeks in November to cut through red tape, and now they say we need to do it again. Im embarrassed that I stood there in my home town where everyone knows me and cried! I tried to plead with her these are not a scheduled narcotic this is a god damn piece of paper my child bleeds on... Only to be told that I have to get the magic approval from clays dr. Which is in San Francisco. So now tomorrow when I should be sleeping after working all night tonight I will be on the phone again. No friends I dont need test strips at the moment I know I could go to any of you and get them - and I thank god I have my diabetes family to lean on if needed. I just am so damn mad that I have to do this every month for one RxR or another just to keep my kid alive and healthy. The insurance industry in this country is out of control - broken and I dont have it in me to play these games with them.
