So congratulations to the Hortonville JV football team on a great season. It was fun to watch you all this season. It is too bad that your season ended as it did tonight. Its a tough pill to swallow when your coaches dont have faith enough in their own team to get a win in the final game that they have to bring down varsity players. I used to have respect for the coaches but the have lost it. How can you tell your team that you are bringing down varsity players so you can win? What does that say about your team and especially about your coaching ability. It would have been great to see the jv team tonight in all their glory in their last game of the season. Instead we saw varsity players who have their own games to play in and we saw half the team not even play. How do the players get better if they dont play? How do they get game experience if they dont play? It sickens me that we have that many kids on a team and half of them never see the field in a game. What is the purpose of that? This is high school! The kids are there to learn and play the game. Sucks that grown men think that this is do or die and the only thing that matters is the win. Well lets see, jv football, where do you go when the regular season is done? Oh thats right they just play the regular season. Great lets go for a winning record, I agree its not fun to lose but not at the cost of our sons and their love and desire for the game. Thank you coaches for showing the boys what little respect you have for them and not letting them all play in the last game of the season. Thank you for making the choice of whether to play next year or not easier for them. This may have been their last year anyway and they surely didnt get to enjoy their last game, did they? Even the seniors who never play get in the game for a play on senior night. Thank you coaches for not even giving the boys that. Good luck boys in the future whether you play football again or not. Hopefully if you do, you will have a better experience than these two gave you this year.
