So earlier today I was making the argument that the law should exist to further enumerate the rights of the people. Our rights certainly are not limited to what is enumerated in the Constitution and the 9th Amendment even says so. I got a reply that stated if government tried to enumerate all our rights it would look like the tax code. I agree, and the list could never be exhaustive. Further I would rather have a very long but impossibly exhaustive list of enumerated rights then a tax code.
