So...evidently the Peru Jr High chapter of the National Junior Honor Society is a super secret organization. Of course I was given the run around at the school board meeting. When asked specifically how I could get my concern on a future agenda, I was never given a specific answer. I was told to arrange a meeting with the principal, who was standing right there, or with the superintendent. Who was not yet at the meeting. I guess panel members are not allowed to be revealed, because heaven forbid I be put in direct contact with someone who can explain to me wth is going on. I suggest if you have a child you feel was wrongly denied an invitation into the program, you too request answers. Why is there nothing posted other than on the official NJHS website, which states that all chapters will have this simple information posted somewhere. Now my letter writing and email campaign begins. As a parent I have a right to know what is expected from my child, since clearly amazing grades, extracurricular actives, service and having a great character are no longer enough.
