So excited, I was finally able to make an ancestry break though it - TopicsExpress

So excited, I was finally able to make an ancestry break though it took years to do. My grandfathers (Tom Bostwick) grandmother was named Addie Rosa Folds McClendon. I knew that her mother was Sallie Folds married to John Robert Folds, but I could not figure out her maiden name. Yesterday, I found the marriage record for Robert Folds and Sarah E. Johnson. Sallie also went by Sarah E. on one of her census records. So now, I finally found out who her parents were. Arnold Johnson who died in the civil war and was the son of Arnold & Nancy Johnson from South Carolina. Her mother was Elizabeth Thaxton who was the daughter of Dr. Yelverton Thaxton and Lodicia Dicey Ward. Apparently Arnold Johnson Sr. died young and left Arnold Jr. and his siblings orphans. Dr. Thaxton took them in and Arnold Jr. married his daughter Elizabeth. I was able to take the Thaxston & Ward lines back further and have now discovered quite a few dna cousins from this line.
