So far this year, from the perspective of trying to settle into - TopicsExpress

So far this year, from the perspective of trying to settle into some sort of sustainable life in artistic adventures, I have had some of the most uplifting and positive news and invitations. I received a Factor Demo grant, and have started recording the first songs of a future Bird City record. This small grant has allowed me to record with Scott Merritt, who is one of my favourite people in the world, a huge influence on me and these small songs that I make, and one of the most peaceful people to be in the presence of. Its also afforded me a band of some of the highest quality talents that I know, Nathan Lawr, Bryan Fletcher Webb, Rich Burnett and J.J. Ipsen. I have also been given a show in June opening for Richard Buckner - a songwriter who has been in my favourites list for nearly 15 years. I am trying to refrain from filling this post with the millions of exclamation marks that have been filling me every day when I take the time to think of these things. The exclamation marks would shoot past all available character allowances. I want to post my appreciation every chance I get because I have been playing music for over half of my life now, and these sorts of acknowledgements are the best reassurances that I am doing some things right. Everybody needs these sort of confidence boosters and I hope you are all receiving them in your respective fields. I am continuing on my grant writing and show-collecting mission, hoping things continue so wonderfully. On a different note, I also bought a giant bus and this path of advancement and excitement that Im on is going to cost a fair amount of money, so please send me your suggestions for innovative funds-acquiring tactics. I am so excited and have soooooo much work ahead of me.
