So following on from my healthy discussion i started last night regarding social & Health benefits/ Budget someone made a comment This sounds like its coming from someone who has money... got me thinking (no offence taken at all :) Yes im well off and truly blessed with what i have but I/my family didnt have all that 10 years ago in fact as a migrant family to Australia, we all worked 2-3 jobs every day to get to where we are now. We did not get any social benefit or pension or a dole. We had to earn every dollar BUT we still paid Tax to this country! Most of us are either 1st or 2nd migrants to this wonderful country. We or our parents left our mother country in hope of a better future and greener pastures. When we/parents all came here we didnt know any better than to WORK HARD and EARN not to complain on the political background or the War or poverty or lack of education. I still work on average 12-15hrs 6 days a week, because i want to achieve my dreams and goals and that only comes from HARD WORK! The easy path is to complain and say we dont have but i think its harder to do the opposite. We are so fortunate in this country we can follow our dreams/ goals doesnt matter where we come from, what the colour of skin we have or if we can/cant speak English properly. I think its so easy to not to appreciate what we have and forget where we/ our parents come from. Im reminded every time i go back to my mother country of Sri Lanka the poverty and social in justice and what the war has done to the country. But despite all this, the people live a Happy and content life CAUSE THATs THE ONLY WAY THEY KNOW HOW TO LIVE!
