So for about the past month I have had this horrible smell coming out of my vent system in the house. I thought a mouse had gotten in there and died, but the smell would migrate from my bedroom clear to the other end of the house, and then back again. Well, today when I got home it smelled in my bathroom and bedroom, so I took the vent covers off and sprayed Lysol into the duct work. Tonight I was sitting in the office on my computer and caught a glimpse of movement on the kitchen floor. THERE WAS A 4 FOOT SNAKE CRAWLING ACROSS MY KITCHEN FLOOR!!! MOMMA!!! I gathered up all the dogs and put them in my bedroom. The snake crawled into the dog room, so I opened the door and caught it between the outside door and the screen, then went outside and opened the screen door. It was very happy to be outside and slithered away rather quickly! Needless to say, I need to go change my britches now! I have had my excitement for a lifetime! It was a king snake, and they are pretty friendly, in fact this is probably the snake I caught on my porch and took out to the hay barn to catch mice! Guess he liked the house better. I bet I sleep with one eye open tonight!
