So for folks that arent in the know, Ive been traveling up to LA twice so far this month for extras and casting calls. Three separate gigs, I was rejected. Its not because I cant act or remember a single word of dialog (which was saying wow in the script), but I apparently dont look the part. Now the casting agents didnt spell out why I wasnt cast, but they did say that I didnt look ethnic enough. By ethnic, they mean I didnt look like a walking/talking stereotype. So for folks that are saying there arent any standards and looks doesnt matter, well try driving a few hundred miles and sleeping in the car to be told you didnt look stereotypical enough.
