So, for those of you who have not seen me recently.... At the end of July, I tripped and fell over my large and lovely dog, Timmy. The result: gashed head, hairline fracture, torn ligament, chipped bone in thumb knuckle, bone contusions, and bruised ego. I have attempted many times since to play the viola, but always with pain and swelling in my thumb. For the past two months, my left hand has been in a brace/cast and my doctor has instructed me to stop playing my instrument. Ive been playing the violin/viola since the age of 10, and not being able to play, (or thinking about not being able to play again,) has been difficult for me. Im bored, I miss my friends and colleagues, Im anxious, and impatient for quicker healing. I know it will all work out..... patience. This Sunday, October 20th, at 4pm I will be presenting another concert in the Historic Congressional Cemeterys chamber music series, Notes From The Crypt, and it will be the first concert that I wont be playing on. Its an incredible program of Bach, Beethoven, and Haydn, and Im really looking forward to hearing my talented friends play. Please come listen or stop by to say hi.
