So, funny story about how this book came to be. I wanted to write a story with horses important to the plot. I enjoy horse racing, but Im not what youd call obsessed, mostly I watch the Triple Crown and some steeplechase racing when I can. A book using the Kentucky Derby as a theme would be fun. Then I had a thought (I have to watch that), and emailed Elizabeth North and asked permission to use the name Dreamspinner for a race horse in a book. She thought that was a very nice idea, and gave me permission. Then I had another thought, it would be very cool to release the book right before the real Kentucky Derby. So I email her again...for some reason the woman keeps answering my emails...and ask when she would need the manuscript by in order to have Run for the Roses released around May 3. She emails back with a date and asks if I have a title. Im sort of excited about the title so of course I tell her its Run for the Roses and give her an idea of the plot. She emails me back and says its in the calendar and she likes the title. And that was how Run for the Roses by Elizabeth Noble was born!
