So get this. The infamous Common Core in our childrens education system focuses on primarily on English Lit and math. Thats all fine and dandy and I do not disagree, but what happened to phys-Ed, social studies and science? Its bad enough that high school grads cant name every state in America, nor know/name any past presidents prior to GW Bush. Im not a history buff but isnt it important to understand how America developed? Industrial revolution, prior wars, great depression, native Americans, prior messed up presidential administrations, 9/11? What about biology? Chemistry? Basic earth science? We are going through a climate change..right? Phys-Ed isnt important when obesity is running ramped in America as well. Whom ever thought of the Common Core must of been a drop out from a school system. Theres no common sense to it what so ever. I never thought Id be this frustrated in education until my kids came along. Their future is at stake as well as your children. Its clearly obvious that our kids are not being taught in school. They are being trained to pass. I dont know much nor was I born yesterday but one thing I do know is that you teach children, not train them!
