So good fb friends , you may recall my extended encounter with energy switching which kinda went belly up and which has been going on since November 2013. I thought it might be useful to vent an update, as still Scottish Power have not got the gas supply back to me. When I last reported I had engaged the Energy Ombudsman, and at the end of November 2014 they made a ruling in my favour including compensation giving Scottish Power 28 days to comply and fix everything. In the event they could not fix it (i.e get the gas back from OVO) they had to write to me and tell me why and every 28 days thereafter until it was resolved. The Ombudsman Remedy Team would ensure enforcement. Quelle Surprise, after 28 days Zilch from Scottish Power so allowing for Christmas etc I delayed calling the Ombudsmans Remedy Team for 10 days. Scottish Power had told the Ombudsman that they had written and apologised. They hadnt... and three days later the apology actually arrived, dated after the Ombudsman intervention! Along with the apology Scottish Power said they hadnt been able to recover the gas supply yet due to a known problem that they were trying to resolve. They will write again in 28 days etc etc Its not all gloom though... they say that they will refund all consumption charges whist they have been trying to resolve the problem (i.e going back to 2013) so looks like free gas and electric for a over a year! Long may they take to solve the problem..... no rush. Has To be the best none switch deal ever.
