So... (here comes controversy) I watched about 2 minutes of Gravity while in Best Buy and I have to say-- It looks like it sucks. Sorry, I love Sandra Bullock, and I love Sci-Fi, and I love thrillers, and I loved Castaway, but I HATE CGI. Or, at least, I hate CGI that tries to imitate reality. It has not improved in the last 10 years. People look inorganic, perspective never looks completely accurate (or maybe its SO accurate as to not look natural), physical movements are jumpy and often too overstated to look real. And, in the time I watched, SBs dialogue was nothing but grunts and sighs. I think some external dialogue would have been more the case if one were stranded in space-- a lot of OMGs and WT_s and angry obscenities would have grounded it in reality to me. But, hey, I dont make bazillion dollar Oscar-winning blockbusters for a living, what do I know? Wanna see a GREAT (but low-action) Sci-Fi thriller, about someone stranded in space, with better acting and dialogue? See Moon with Sam Rockwell.
