So here it is: I made a vow to myself that when the first true Mariner was elected to the Hall of Fame, I would make every effort to attend the induction. While I realize The Big Unit will probably go in as a Diamondback, he still spent a substantial portion of his career as a Mariner, and was key in the 1995 Refuse to Lose Season; one of the greatest comebacks in baseball history. While hes not a shoo in, the early ballots indicate hes in. Meanwhile, I am thinking a bus ride to Cooperstown, while lengthy, would be tremendously appropriate.
