So heres a trip. Last night we played an acoustic set in London at this like crazy awesome cabaret, surreal art umm hard to some up in words event, lets just say it was epic and I felt at home. I added my cover of Mad World to the set and well I guess you could say I let myself go In the song (though I was high as a kite on pain killers shifted my pelvis to the right, ouch! another story at another time...) anyway... End of the event a girl in the audience approached me thanking me for playing Mad World and that the song and the way I played it brought her to tears. She then explained to me her 17 year old son ended his life 2 weeks ago and his favourite song of all was Mad world. My mind shifted. I guess music can be more powerful to some then I think sometimes. Fragment of time that fit the moment. Here I am pre song telling the audience how Im sick of playing the track, must learn to stop being so selfish. The musical experience isnt for me its for the audience, always. Art created on stage on a human canvas by the talented London painter Alice Bizarre Make Up - Check out her work through the link, its just amazing!
