So heres the deal: I am not a big fan of Carrie Underwood, but I dont dislike her. I have been known to ask Jesus to take the wheel a time or two in my life a la Mrs. Underwoods famous song. I am a Christian, however I know a few atheists that are lovely people and I have nothing against them. They have never tried to recruit me or belittle me, and because this is how I wish to be treated I have given them the same courtesy. (golden rule, you know) But the past two days my newsfeed has blown with up with stories that some evil atheist militia is outraged at a new Carrie Underwood song about Jesus. That seemed a little unlikely to me because of the popularity of the afore mentioned Jesus Take the Wheel song and the lack of any objection to it. I asked myself why now?, why her?, whats happening?. I mean arent there much larger atrocities in the world for Christian and atheist alike to get worked up over such as poverty, hunger, lack of clean drinking water in the third world, war, etc. As I often do, I hit the Google for answers. For the life of me I cant find any news article or blog to back up these allegations of outrage, just more articles talking about the outrage. So I think someone somewhere is trying to gin up a little Christian ire in order to boost record sales.
