So, here’s a quick, no-pic Battle report. Timothy took the Avengers, with the 255 point Movie Hulk, a beefy 200 point Movie Thor, Chaos War Iron Man, and 90 point Chaos War Cap. The whole team came in at 586 points – keyworded Avengers (or, so I was told, but seeing as he took Iron man at 41 points without AEing into him, I should probably look that up later). FOLLOW UP – They Are. I took the Secret Warriors, with everything from the Captain America set. So my team looked like this; 37 - CA004 S.H.I.E.L.D. Specialist 54 - CA100 Nick Fury L.M.D. 54 - CA100 Nick Fury L.M.D. 25 - CA203AS.H.I.E.L.D. Field Agent 25 - CA203BS.H.I.E.L.D. Field Agent 62 - CA008 Stonewall 50 - CA009 Slingshot 59 - CA021 Phobos 109 - CA023 Nick Fury 67 - CA034 Quake 45 - CA035 Hellfire 6 - ATA033 Secret Warriors (x6) Total: 593 So some Secret Warriors with their ATA (To make them all SHIELD) and away we went. We played on the Blitzkrieg USA pack map on the Washington, DC side. The Avengers went first with Cap and Thor on the elevated sectin and Iron man and Hulk keeping it real on the ground. On my first turn, Nick Fury jumped atop a light object for Stealth on the ledge of the elevated terrain (where he would stay for the rest of the game). Everyone else moved out. The first major hit was Hulk knocking Stonewall down to his last click on the second turn. After that, Nick Fury cut Cap down to size. Cap was the first to fall, but Stonewall followed shortly after. Nick, an LMD, and Phobos kept Thor occupied on the elevated terrain while Hulk tore me up down on the ground. After Hellfire KO’d Iron Man by first basing him, then hitting him and finishing him off with Poison, Thor was the next to fall. Hulk kept running through my ground troops though, and scored some unfortunate misses. He had theme team re-rolls, but no one left to assign the actions to. The Secret Warriors, on the other hand, had used all but one of our 6 re-rolls b y the time Thor was KO’d. I even spent an entire turn rolling 6-7 times trying for a 7+ on 2d6. I finally managed to use Phobos’ Fearful Force Blast power to scare the Hulk away. When he finally charged back in, I managed to surround him. The rolls to hit him were tough, but with Fury outwitting from above, the 2 damage attacks started stacking up. In a fabulous move, Hulk Quaked everyone around him, KOing 3 characters and knocking most to the last clicks. Sadly, he was never able to down anything about Nick’s outwit or his ability to snipe at him for 3 damage. It was a rough game, with only Nick Fury remaining relatively healthy – everyone else was on their last legs. In retrospect, Timothy probably should have mauled me. Taking Tony Stark and AEing into Iron Man would have given his team some much needed front-loaded Outwit. Also, I never really looked at his team until after the game, where I noticed Thor had the Avengers Initiative TA and could have given a lot of grief to Nick in Stealth. Of course, Nick would have Masterminded it over to his LMD, but that still could have tipped things in his favor. All in all it was a fun game and let me use a lot of figures I hadn’t really played before. Good fun!
