So how cool is this - if you turned on your tiny black and white TV set 60 years ago tonight, youd see a LIVE broadcast of The Dark, Dark Hours with Ronald Reagan (his star on the wane, trying to have a go at this television thing) and rising young star James Dean (post East of Eden, pre Rebel Without A Cause and Giant). Not unearthed until 2010, below is a quick highlight reel of the half hour drama, and both principals give pretty effective performances. Sadly, after Dean would skyrocket to superstardom in 1955, he would perish in a car crash in September, 9 months after this airing.
