So i started my day by taking a drip into Ayder mountans near Trabzon. Rest of my group went to Zilkale ( a castle on the mountens with great view) but I decided to stay in Çamlihemshi, a small village center not more then 1400 people, alone by myself. Heared that there are living Hemshin (Or Hamsen in Armenian), a very close relatives to Armenians. I went for a journey not being sure if I will find anyone or anything. No one spoke a word of english except basic Thank you no yes. I was excited but honestly more nervous then ever. I didnt even know how to explain to people what Im searching and why with plan words. What will they think? A total stranger looking for Hemshin people? I tried to ask here and there but no succes at all. One old lady tried to even cell me köfte dish instade. I decide to say (with hand signes and Turkish words combined) that my grandfather was Hemshin and im looking my roots. Some where happy to hear but then they tried to ask from what village did my grandfather comes.... I got to know that Hemshi dont even live in center village but far away from it in remote villages up in the mountans! Well I decided to walk into closes one in hope of finding someone. Im lookong for Hemshin person who knows his identity and hopefully still can speak Hemshin. I got to know that these old Men and Women were Hemshe but non could understand what Im looking for. Eventually (for this you have to watch my video) I found a young boy who spoke little english!! This boy even knew the fact that Hemshin are Armenians lost relative and when I finally decided to tell him the trueth about me He was more then happy! I feel like I complished, yet, one of my hardes missions and dreams. On top of it now I have new friend called ! Here are the photos and Video small video will fallow later. My next stop is Van and I hope it will be succesfull as this one!
