So i took mom to the store this afternoon. While she was at the customer service desk I took the groceries out to the car. I was approached by an elderly lady around 70 years old who asked me if I had any food she and her husband could have. She explained that they had moved up here from Alabama for a job transfer and her husband got outbid for the job. They were living in thier car in the parking lot. I gave her some apples and granola bars. She did not ask for money. As I drove the car to the front of the store to pick up mom, I called the police department to see if there were any shelters still offering temporary housing and maybe a hot meal tonight. They said they could send someone out to check on her and her husband. I can not get that poor lady out of my head. I breifly thought it might be a scheme but since she didnt ask for money and only wanted something to eat, I quickly put that out of my mind. I hope they are able to get some help. Im grateful for the little bit of everything we have. Hug your peoples. Be grateful for all that you have.
