So, if the soreness from yesterdays unfortunate dancing/falling accident wasnt enough, what did I do in the kitchen? Well, Ill tell you what I did. I decided to cook a pot roast this morning. I floured the roast and put my 100-year-old dutch oven on the stove so I could brown the meat before putting it in the oven. Well, once I had browned the meat, without thinking, I just picked up the dutch oven with my bare hands. And it was hot. So very hot. Damn hot. I dropped it onto the glass top range and, luckily, it did not break the stove; however, roast and flour and grease went everywhere. My thumb and my pointer and middle fingers on both hands are slightly burned. I had a can of beef broth and I needed to see how many ounces were in the broth. Like a dumbass, I didnt have my glasses on so what did I do? Well, Ill tell you what I did. I bent down and put the can under the lights under my cabinets so I could see it. Then, when I raised back up, I had stupidly forgotten that I had left the cabinet door open and banged my head up against the cabinet door. I literally saw stars. Waves of nausea passed over me and I nearly blacked out. I managed to get myself to the breakfast table and sat my fat ass down until I could see again. Cindy always tells me never to say What else can happen? But I did it, anyway. I cried out loud. What else can happen to me???? And you know what happened? Well, Ill tell you what happened. I stood up and didnt realize that poor old blind Nancy was right under my feet and I tripped. I did not fall (thank you, Jesus) but I did break my fall by grabbing onto the breakfast table. And then what did I do? You know Im going to tell you what I did. I raised back up and hit the back of my head on that $%^&@* light fixture that I HATE that hangs over the breakfast table. Thats what I did. So, if you are wondering why I wrote Bless my heart on my last post, there you have it. I think Ill just climb in the cage with Bird and call it a day.
