So if you are wondering what all the commotion is about we had a house struck by lightning in the 300 block of Main Street. Sayreville Fire, Police, and EMS are on scene. The fire is knocked down and there were no injuries. Main Street is closed between Hillside and Pulaski Avenues in both directions due to ongoing Fire Department activity. Local road flooding at the base of the Victory Bridge in both directions extending down lower Main Street/Old Route 4 up to the South Amboy City limits. Some people stuck in their cars and they are being removed by Fire personnel. Kudos to the Fire Department, especially the two guys that were in the bucket of the ladder tower during a lightning storm.
