So im lookin up some evanescence on youtube, hadnt heard this one before. Started listening, and I was like oh crap, a 6-count beat. I know in the past Ive tried to explain a 6-count beat, but couldnt remember any songs with one. Most songs are 4-count beats. The tempo is the foundation of the rhythm (like what you usually bob your head to) gotta listen a little bit closer to feel/hear the counts. Like when the chord progression starts and repeats. I didnt get to practice very much with 6-count beats when I was learning from my drum instructor (too much for my newbie brain at the time), but later on I figured them out just listening to music. Like the beat seems skippy and like its got a hiccup in it, but thats because of the two extra counts you dont normally hear in most songs.
