So in reading the Herbal Kitchen and looking at elderberry. Several years ago I was given what was supposed to be a hydrangea tree from a friends parents home in Ft Worth. It grew to about 12 feet and another friend said it was elderberry and very invasive I needed to take it out. I did. Today reading the wonderful uses of the elderberry and the flower of the elderberry I am regretting I roved that tall shrub. Several years ago I had a serious upper respitory infection that lingered. Because of a blood disorder I cannot take antihistamines. So I went to a knowledgable health food store and they suggested elderberry. It helped.
