So in the spirit of Halloween I wanted to share my memory of trick - TopicsExpress

So in the spirit of Halloween I wanted to share my memory of trick or treating in my neighborhood as a kid. This was the early 80s for me! I live on Gay Place and I knew ever one of my neighbors around that loop, Funny thing is not many people know there neighbors like you used to when you were young. Anyway, I remember trick or treating and getting to this one ladies house that was such a sweet lady. She used to hand out candy but also she had a bowl of dimes! YES a bowl of dimes and to a kid money for candy and stickers and toys yay! She would give you a hand full of candy and she would hand out a small handful of dimes in your candy bucket! I loved that. One year when my mom and dad got divorced my dad let me go around the loop by myself and when I came back he said for me to put on another costume I had from the previous year and since there was still time go back around and get him some candy! SMH lord. Just thought I would share. Anyone have any tick or treat memories from the north side? Or better yet Halloween memories, including ghost stories? Oh yeah by the way living on Gay place I was allowed to walk to PDQ my favorite store growing up and that is where my dimes got spent!
