So, it appears that the Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet I got from Western Farm Center may actually be a Black Australorp Cockerel. Gilly seems to be Gill, although we wont know for sure until she/he crows, which could be a couple more months. Im already in love with this chicken because s/he is unbelievably tame, gentle, and affectionate. A super chill personality that will make a great pet or a reliable rooster for a harem. Sadly, no roosters allowed in city limits, so if Gilly does turn out to be Gill, Ill have to re-home him (I wont give him away as a meat bird, so please dont ask.) Is there anyone local who needs a rooster, to manage your girls or as a pet? I want to start planning this gentle birds long-term fate. p.s. Assuming this is a male, I will continue to hand raise him so that hes as comfortable with humans as possible before re-homing him. So youll be assured a super tame roo. p.p.s. I want visiting privileges too. :)
