So it has been confirmed that the school that Alek will attend does not provide any form of bus service, paid or free. Im at a loss right now. The school is about a mile away, and would be reasonable to walk to. I however walked there today with 3 children and 7 months pregnant. It was quite a task to say the least. Come October my 3 year old would have to walk 2 miles round trip. I find this incredibly ridiculous. Not every family has 2 cars, and I guarantee my 5 year old will not be walking alone. I guess Im old fashioned thinking that paying taxes should include bus transportation for public school students should they be in need of that service. And when did every family become so privileged that they could have multiple vehicles regardless of family incomes? We are a one income home, and therefore a one car family, because thats the budget. It would be nice for Keller ISD and Eagle Ridge Elementary to update their websites to inform parents of such things. Its a little last minute for us to try and attempt getting a second car less than 3 weeks before school starts. God will provide I know, but right now Im am very upset about the lack of information. And yes I will be filing a formal complaint to the school district, I just need to let this out right now.
