So its the 3rd of October and I still have over 100 clients constantly online over my network. I recently had a few problems with a router keep rebooting at Mazarakata and unfortunately due to the nature of my network, it did have an affect on the rest of the network. Randomly rebooting just once per night, or once every other night at first, then as soon as I went back to the UK for a 6 days, it started rebooting more frequently and during the day too. By the time I got back Sunday, it was rebooting sometimes every half hour during the day too, so I tried a few things to see if I could cure it, but yesterday had to climb the tower to replace the 4 year old router there which now seems to have cured it. Well although theres less clients, the usage has still been massive with a whopping 2 terra-bytes of data passed during September with a massive quarter of that in upload. I still havent got the VDSL connection in, I need to upgrade other parts of the network before I can, but I have time now that the seasons at its end. Ive had a flurry of clients paying for the odd extra week recently, so I presume theyve had a good season. Theres lots of villa owners out now too, closing up for the winter and spending the last few sunny Autumn days on the island. Ive had great success with the KBTV service which Ive been rolling out over the last couple of weeks, allowing you to get UK TV over satellite once more, with hundreds of channels to choose from including, movies, news, sports, kids and most of the other Sky channels. This is in an effort to try and stop my clients watching TV over my network as I simply dont have the bandwidth available to support many people watching TV for hours on end. Ive been working on this for a year and it provides the solution to the void left when they changed the satellite and removed the Sky channels over the last couple of years. So now you can flick to your hearts content.
