So last night I was sort of gay-bashed near my home, meaning, I got punched in the jaw a few times while being called a Faggot, and then a beer bottle was thrown at me, which split the skin open on my chest near my clavicle. My chest is fine, 5 stitches and its not an issue, but my jaw and head are killing me. My question: Do I go to the police and file a report, then call the news to make a story? I can hear the headline, Cleveland Man Beaten for being Gay during time Cleveland Shows Support for Equality Hosting the Gay Games. I feel like this could be a national story and raise awareness, but its such a headache of a process repeating my story a hundred times. Do I take the headache for the greater good, or handle the headache I have and ride it out? I feel a sense of social responsibility to do something about it. Thoughts?
