So, let me share a story. 17 years ago, on this day, I sat curled up on a couch next to a wonderfully old ceramic (gas) heater. I had just moved into this place 2 days before in the midst of a blizzard & ice storm. The phone company never did get there to activate my service (way before cell phones for me). Unable to talk to anyone, I sat down & started a list of the people I would call to wish a Merry Christmas, if I could. By the 3rd page, I was in tears...tears of gratitude that God had crossed my path with so many wonderful people...as night fell, the lights from the neighboring homes shone across all the ice on the trees, the cars and yes...the sidewalks. How blessed I was! How blessed I still am.
