So listening to mighty 1090 this morning, and the host brought up a controversial yet interesting idea: What has happened to Robin Williams is a tragedy. No doubt about it. I learned about his death just as Im sure the rest of you did, through media and such. Robin has also fought through addiction and depression through most of his life. The same can go with a lot of great actors/actresses. Heath ledger, Monroe, etc... Yet, we almost see these people as role models, or idolizations for who we want to be growing up. Yet, we flip the categories in which drug addiction and depression exists , say, on the sports category, and all of a sudden, we perceive these lost victims of drug abuse as bad people. Alex Rodriguez, for example. most would say they dont like him because he did steroids. Barry bonds, mark McGuire. The list goes on. My question and mainly out my own personal curiosity, what marks the difference between the two kind of people and why do we perceive or judge as such?
