So many children are let down by those meant to protect them, parents, CPS... And justice is very slow. If you feel something is wrong it probably is so make that call. You could save a childs life. All children deserve to be safe, happy and secure Do we want to continue to deal with the consequences of child abuse - or do we actually want to prevent these problems in the first place? Have 20 seconds to spare? Consider this: 80% of 21 year olds that were abused as children met criteria for at least one psychological disorder. As many as two-thirds of the people in treatment for drug abuse reported being abused or neglected as children. Children who experience child abuse & neglect are about 9 times more likely to become involved in criminal activity. Crime, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, disability, future child abuse - it all will continue as long as we fail to prevent abuse in the first place. Awareness is essential - and so is prevention education.
