So many people I talk to in my everyday life are disenfranchised - TopicsExpress

So many people I talk to in my everyday life are disenfranchised with the current political landscape: neighbors, kids friends parents, coworkers. At some point we will join TOGETHER to elect anti-establishment candidates who actually represent us. The government represents the ultra-wealthy 1%, who call all the shots. Its us against them and its not supposed to be that way. The problem is that candidates have to sell their souls to campaign contributors to be able to afford the advertising to win. We need publicly funded campaigns, a ban on all political contributions, personal spending limits, and opportunities equally available to all to describe their views. Candidates could pound the pavement to get signatures to get onto the ballot. We could make it work. But first we have to work together to overhaul how campaigns are financed. Not just tweak it. Wipe it out. Thats the only way I see us getting out of this mess because its all about the money. Thats what controls our politicians.
