So many people get so scared by their MACRONUTRIENT CALCULATIONS. They instantly feel turned off because they feel that their TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) of calories is WAYY to high and that the only way they think or have been taught to lose weight is through decreasing calories. lets take this for example: if your tdee is 2000 cals and your BMR (basal metabolic rate) lets say 1500 and you are eating just that amount or lower you are eventually going to create a slow metabolism and then the only way to lose more weight is continuously dropping your calories lower and lower. But how far can you go before you are just eating AIR!?! Most people say, WELL HOW COME? I JUST DONT GET IT, SHOULDNT I EAT LESS CALORIES TO LOSE WEIGHT NOT EAT MORE CALORIES! Nope and the the reason why is by continually going lower and lower on calories your body creates a reverse effect in some cases you will see people on extremely low calorie diets actually gain weight. Why because they have caused metabolic damage and their body is going into a survival mode. Our bodies are like cars we need fuel to get them going and to create a healthy and burning metabolism. You cannot be a 160lbs woman who lifts weights 5 days a week and does cardio 3 days a week and only eat 1200 calories our bodies just dont operate that way. Yes you want to create a deficit within our caloric intake but not one that is so too drastic. You should never have to go more than 500 calories from your TDEE. But first you have to take the time to repair the damage of the low calorie diets youve done for years. Heck I used to have that mindset too... I had done Years and years of yoyo fad dieting if it was thought of I probably tried it and in turn had created some seriously bad habits the not only resulted in binging but then my metabolism was shot. Once I changed my mindset and learned about macros and how to maintain my weight as well as lose fat and gain lean muscle I have been 10x more successful. Now some of you are probably saying this whole MACRO thing is just another fad and sorry to burst your bubble folks but its not! It is science and instead of our media showcasing the success behind true science it showcases pills and fad 12 week diets or 10 day shreds. Being successful with FAT LOSS not WEIGHT LOSS is through finding the balance and learning to still enjoy your life. So STOP DIETING AND LEARN TO CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE. I have spent the last year researching, learning and using the macro system.
