So many times we, even as Christians, we look around and it seems - TopicsExpress

So many times we, even as Christians, we look around and it seems that everyone around us have so much more than we do. It seems that the people with the most possessions, the bling, are the ones who dont even pretend to know God exists. From our vantage point-outside looking in-it seems these people have got it going on compared to ourselves. That person has a six bedroom house. I have a two bedroom apartment home. That person has a house filled with the finest furnishings. I have an apartment home with the basic needs. That person has a three car garage with a Benz, BMW and Range Rover. I have one parking spot in front of my home where I park my paid for Toyota. That person has the finest looking husband or wife. I am single or divorced. That person is a doctor, lawyer or CEO of a huge company. I am a teacher, mechanic or plant worker. We look at all of this and say, God, this is not fair. I serve you. Why them and not me? But would we rather have the big house where there is no love or peace, the house that is just a house and not a home? Or would we rather have the apartment which is a home filled with Gods love, peace, and mercy? Would we rather have the house with the five figure mortgage we would struggle to pay or have the home where we can meet our monthly obligations? Where we are content until God blesses us with more when He chooses? Would we rather have the three garage with the Benz, BMW and Range Rover with maintenance bills thousands of dollars each? Or we would rather have the Toyota with oil changes of $30 or $40, take care of it and be content until God blesses us with something else? Would we rather have the fine looking husband or wife and in a house with no love and domestic abuse? Or we would we rather dedicate our single lives to God and wait on Him for a godly mate? When we are outside looking in, we think the grass is greener on the other side but we really have no idea what is going on behind those closed doors. It is not even our business. We have to learn to be content with the blessings God has already given us (whatever state we are in Phil 4:11). When we take our focus off others and ourselves, and focus on God and His goodness, we can see how blessed we already are. When we take our eyes off the material things of this world (which will fade away), we see the true promises of God, not only in the physical but the spiritual as well. We can then see that God has promised us a home on high and mansion not made by hand. We can then see that He has promised peace for evermore. We can then see that He has promised us we will live with Him, where there is no more tears, pain or sorrow. When we look to God and start to count our blessings, we cant count them all. We can then truly see just how blessed we are. He said He would supply our need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil 4:19). This is a promise and blessing we can count on-one we can take to the bank! 1 Timothy 6:6-12.
